Eligible Projects


The EIIA Risk Management Foundation offers funding for a range of activities designed to enhance safety and mitigate risks, including, but not limited to:


  • •Capital Improvements: Projects aimed at mitigating risks associated with fire, water, and storm-related damage.

  • ∙Maintenance Items: Support for addressing hazards that pose a danger to students, staff, or the public.

  • ∙Staff Training Programs: Funding for professional consultations and training focused on Title IX compliance, campus security, employment practices, fleet and driver safety, sexual harassment and abuse prevention.

  • ∙Cybersecurity Measures: Initiatives that enhance institutions' cybersecurity posture and protect sensitive information.

Eligible Institutions

The EIIA Risk Management Foundation is dedicated to supporting a diverse range of educational institutions and their initiatives aimed at enhancing safety and reducing risks. Our funding is designed to assist organizations that align with our mission, particularly those demonstrating a commitment to providing safe and secure environments for their students, staff, and communities.

Preference is given to EIIA Member Institutions that demonstrate a significant need for financial assistance based on their overall financial health.

Funding from the EIIA Risk Management Foundation is open to all educational institutions that meet the established criteria; however, preference is given to EIIA Member Institutions that demonstrate a significant need for financial assistance based on their overall financial health.

Eligible institutions must be:

•501(c)(3) Organizations: Institutions must be recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and demonstrating commitment to charitable, educational, or religious purposes.

•Affiliated with Approved Religious Bodies: Project requests may be submitted by institutions that are affiliated with The United Methodist Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., and other approved religious denominations.

Grant funding is also subject to prioritization of programs, projects, and initiatives designated by EIIA Risk Management.




The EIIA Risk Management Foundation is committed to transparency and accountability in its funding practices, ensuring that all supported projects align with the foundation’s mission of enhancing safety and reducing risk within educational environments.

How to Apply

1. Verify Eligibility: Confirm that your institution meets the eligibility criteria.

2. Complete the Application: Fill out the EIIA Risk Management Foundation Grant Application with detailed information about your proposed project.

3. Foundation Review: The Foundation Board meets quarterly to review applications, so your proposal can be considered at the next available opportunity.

4. Grant Notification: The Foundation Board will notify you on the status of your application.
