Employee Benefits Program

Over 80 institutions currently take advantage of the EIIA Employee Benefits Program, enjoying robust and competitive benefit packages while providing greater flexibility and control over plan designs – ultimately controlling costs. We offer services in three main categories:

  • Health Plans
  • Life Insurance
  • Long Term Disability

Health Plans

Unlike most consortium plans, you create your own benefit plan to meet the needs of your employees, using HMO, PPO or POS vendors. Fully flexible, you decide your deductible and employee contribution levels. You decide your out-of-pocket maximums and other benefit design features. Self-funded, HSA, HRA, and fully insured plan designs are available.

  • You benefit from the power of a consortium yet you decide your own plans to meet your needs.

Life Insurance

The EIIA Group Life Program allows institutions to take advantage of fully insured group term life coverage. Using group buying power our life program offers very competitive rates. Institutions have the flexibility to create their own schedule of benefits which can also include optional supplemental life insurance, dependent life insurance or accidental death & dismemberment.

Long Term Disability - The Long Term Disability Program offers features generally unavailable to institutions. Features included are retirement income protection, coverage during sabbaticals, and return to "own occupation," all at reduced rates. Our program also includes an Employee Assistance Program and Assist America Travel benefits at no additional cost.

Short Term Disability - coverage is also available through third-party administrative services.

Other compelling EIIA features:

  • Over Age 65 retiree health and prescription drug options offers coverage to all your retirees and their spouses. The plan includes protection against the Medicare Part D "donut hole."
